PROJECT: A13 Fender System
LOCATION: A13 River Lea Bridge Crossing, Camden

PROJECT OVERVIEW: CMP were contracted to remove an existing timber fender system and replace with a new steel structure weighing 220 tonnes.

WORKS DESCRIPTION:

• Remove and dispose of old timber fender system
• Drive 4 No 900mm diameter support piles into the river bed
• Prefabricate horizontal tubular supports on site
• Float supports out under the bridge and lift into position
• Welders then worked around the clock on low water tides to complete the installation
• Whole structure painted with two coats of epoxy paint
• Works carried out under the restraint of overhead power cables
