PROJECT OVERVIEW: CMP were contracted to demolish and dispose of an 8000 t concrete slab situated 20m underwater.

WORKS DESCRIPTION:

• Full hydrographic and sub-bottom survey undertaken
• 90t long-reach excavator with hydraulic breaker tracked on to 1500t spud-leg barge
• Concrete slab, 20m underwater and up to strength C40, broken-out to desired level
• Specially strengthened rock bucket fitted to long-reach excavator and broken concrete removed
• Concrete disposed of using environmentally friendly methods
• Project required the precise movement monitoring of adjacent quay walls
