PROJECT: Bideford Bridge Concrete Mattressing

PROJECT OVERVIEW: CMP were contracted to install 1500m2 of concrete matressing along the riverbed either side of Bideford Bridge. We understand this to be one of the largest jobs of its kind ever done in the UK.

WORKS DESCRIPTION:

• Excavate, backfill and level the riverbed
• Lay specially imported fabric matressing on the riverbed using a specialist diving team
• Pump mattresses full of concrete (2500m3)
• Works carried out in extreme tidal conditions with water current in excess of 6 knots and short slack water periods
