PROJECT: M25 Widening LOCATION: London, England CLIENT: Skanska Balfour Beatty JV VALUE: £1,400,000 PROJECT OVERVIEW: CMP were contracted to install sheet piling on the M25 widening between Junctions 16-18
WORKS DESCRIPTION:
Joint venture formed with Kim Barker to allow mobilization of up to 7 piling gangs installing sheet piles with leader rigs, excavator mounted rigs, conventional rigs and silent and vibration-free techniques
Majority of installation completed with telescopic leader rigs (TLR) drop hammer used for final driving where required
Unique King Sheet Pile (KSP) Retaining Wall System utilised to save a minimum of 33% of the mass of steel when compared to a conventional sheet piled wall
Achieved an average of 1,000-1,100m2 sheet pile installation per week or 20 to 25m run of piling per day
Production reached a high of 1370m2 installation, 120 pairs of piles between 9 and 11m, in one week
A total of 22,000m2 of steel piling driven throughout project
