Rock Socketed Pile Installation
Where piles are required to seat deep into hard rock and it is not possible to drive, the method of constructing a rock socket pile is often chosen. This process involves drilling into the hard rock to form a vertical hole in which the steel pile is then installed.
In marine conditions this process usually requires use of a jack-up barge to carry out the drilling operations, which allows the drilling to be unaffected by tide, waves and weather.
CMP have completed a number of rock socket projects, the most impressive and challenging to date is the Liverpool piling project which is featured on this website.
