PROJECT OVERVIEW: CMP were contracted to resurface the Sandbank’s chain-ferry concrete slipways and modify the design to reduce the impact of tidal flow and chain damage on the structure.


WORKS DESCRIPTION:

  • Temporary working platform with unifloat platform constructed to enable piling rig access to edge of slipway over water
  • Series of 12.0m long PU18 temporary piles lifted in to position using 70t crawler crane and driven using Movax rig to form a temporary cofferdam
  • Sea water pumped from cofferdam
  • Permanent 3 to 5m length piles installed
  • Slipways resurfaced
