PROJECT: Sandbanks Ferry Slipway Refurbishment LOCATION: Sandbanks CLIENT: Sandbanks Ferry Company VALUE: £150,000 PROJECT OVERVIEW: CMP were contracted to resurface the Sandbank’s chain-ferry concrete slipways and modify the design to reduce the impact of tidal flow and chain damage on the structure.
WORKS DESCRIPTION:
Temporary working platform with unifloat platform constructed to enable piling rig access to edge of slipway over water
Series of 12.0m long PU18 temporary piles lifted in to position using 70t crawler crane and driven using Movax rig to form a temporary cofferdam
Sea water pumped from cofferdam
Permanent 3 to 5m length piles installed
Slipways resurfaced
